Star Wars Outlaws is the newest game in a long line of Ubisoft Massive Entertainment's immersive open-world RPGs. Throughout the game, Kay will unlock more and more abilities that will build the foundation of her journey to become a galaxy-class outlaw. With the number of features, weapons, and tools to keep track of, players might miss some features or mechanics that could vastly improve their experience.
While the game is already packed with plenty of ways to help Kay become a successful Outlaw in a dangerous galaxy, not all of them are revealed right away. Some settings are tucked away in hidden menus or aren't explicitly told to the player, leaving them to find out for themselves. For anyone who wants to have the best experience possible playing Star Wars Outlaws, players should use every feature possible to make the most of their journey through the stars.

10 Graphics Settings That Are Out Of This World
A Hidden Preset Only For Outlaws With The Most Powerful Machines
Star Wars Outlaws is already a very graphically intensive game, with many players struggling to run it on PC with the maximum settings enabled. Thankfully, there are plenty of ways to customize performance with a range of performance settings and FPS-boosting options, like Nvidia's DLSS. For the most dedicated players with hardware to match, a secret graphics setting that surpasses even the Ultra preset can be enabled.
It's not recommended to enable this preset unless players have a strong computer that can easily run it on the maximum settings already.
To access these even higher hidden graphics settings, players need to input the code "-unlockmaxsettings" into the Ubisoft Launcher start parameters. This concept is a recent trend for Ubisoft, originating in its release of the sensory overloading Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora with its similarly named Unobtanium preset. While this option has been met with confusion by fans, it's likely to avoid negative backlash from players without the proper hardware trying to run the experimentally high settings.
9 Additional Mini-Game Difficulty Options
Accessibility For Players Of All Skill Levels
One of Star Wars Outlaws' greatest aspects is how inclusive it is for a wide range of players, no matter their experience. While it includes the standard combat and gameplay difficulty settings, not every player will notice the detailed accessibility settings for mini-games. For players struggling with Data Spiking or Slicing, there are different options to lower the difficulty, changing it to be more accessible, or even skipping them entirely.
These settings are not only great for players who need a bit of extra help, but also for those trying to collect everything in the game without repeating the same mini-games too many times. For players that struggle with the specific parts of mini-games but still want the challenge, there are plenty of ways to customize them to fit everyone's individual needs. Slicing can be made more readable by changing the glyphs into simple numbers, while Data Spiking has options to disable the rhythm mechanic that some players struggle with, while still retaining the mechanic.
8 Keeping An Eye Out For Yellow Paint
Easily Find Hidden Treasure Or Out-Of-The-Way Climbing Spots
The galaxy of Star Wars Outlaws is filled with planets to explore and dense environments to uncover, but sometimes it can get a little overwhelming. Sometimes the environment can blend together visually, which is why yellow paint can be seen on many missable parts of the environment Kay can interact with. This isn't limited to just climbing or exploration, as in space exploration yellow paint marks abandoned ships filled with valuable loot for keen-eyed players.
For players who want a more immersive experience or a bit of added difficulty on their second playthrough, the helpful yellow paint can also be disabled. By going into the game's gameplay settings, there's an option called Explorer Mode for experienced players that disables navigational colors in the environment. Ultimately, not every player will have the same needs or desires when it comes to accessibility, which is why having both options available is a great feature most players might miss.
7 How To Win Fathier Bets Almost Every Time
Outlaws Have To Use All The Information They Can To Succeed
For any outlaws who want to earn some extra credits, Fathier bets are an excellent method with the right knowledge. These race bets are a large industry in the underworld of Star Wars Outlaws, but not everyone plays fair when credits are involved. Some races are especially more predictable than others, as the winners are rigged from the start to benefit anyone with the clues to find out who to bet on.
Fixed races have a cooldown between them, making it good to check in on Fathier races every once in a while.
Sometimes finding the clue to which Farthier is guaranteed to win the next race is as simple as reading a conveniently misplaced data pad, mostly commonly found in Syndacite held locations. The winner of the race won't be spelled out by name, however, as players should look for anything that stands out the most related to the clue provided. After reaching the betting station, Kay should bet as many credits as possible on whichever option matches the criteria to get an excellent and secure payout.
6 Controlling Kay's Speeder Like A Pro
Total Control To Speed Around Planets In Style
After unlocking the speeder for the first time in Star Wars Outlaws, players will receive a few tips and button prompts to get started. There's a lot more to driving a speeder bike than simply speeding and braking, with the game leaving it up to most players to figure out the rest. Kay can also upgrade her speeder later in the game, unlocking valuable abilities like speeding over water or air jumping to easily traverse any environment.
With how much Kay uses her speeder bike, it's good to complete side quests to upgrade it as soon as possible.
What the game doesn't tell players is how to make the most of what Kay can already do with her base speeder. By braking and turning while driving, players can drift Kay's speeder to make quick turns to avoid enemies, or use the direction controls in midair to safely land after jumps. Another incredible feature for outrunning enemies is the charging mechanic, allowing Kay to build up her bike's speed while remaining in place by braking and accelerating simultaneously, quickly letting go for an extra burst of high speed.
5 Audio Cue's To Keep An Ear Out For
No Longer Miss Out On Extra Hidden Treasure
There's plenty of treasure to be discovered throughout the galaxy in Star Wars Outlaws, from unique cosmetics to useful materials, or even stashes of credits. With legendary smuggler vaults and hidden chests being scattered planet-wide, players will need to use more than just their eyes to find every collectible they can. Kay can even listen in to nearby conversations to acquire valuable intel about an area or find the perfect timing when to open doors with the Data Spike just by listening to its musical cues.
While exploring cities or other dense areas of a planet, a coin flip sound will play to alert Kay of any nearby treasure ripe for plundering. After hearing the tell-tale sound, the area to find the hidden treasure will be highlighted on the player's radar. While players can simply look at the radar and ignore the sound altogether, it's a helpful reminder to check for the location of newly added treasure, especially in busy areas where the radar is more filled out.
4 Eavesdropping On Key NPCs
Greater Advantages For Negotiations And Bluffing
Eavesdropping is one of the most useful methods of obtaining advantages in social bargaining or finding out alternative paths to complete objectives. It's not always overt in which situations Kay can benefit from eavesdropping on a conversation, making it important for players to keep an ear open for any key conversations. Sometimes, even casual conversations will mention a useful piece of information that offers bonus objectives, like finding extra credits, alternative methods to complete a quest, or gaining bargaining tips.
The easiest way to find out which conversations are worth listening to is by paying attention to anyone talking loudly or in hushed tones. Picking a good spot to eavesdrop is the next step to successfully gathering valuable information, with Kay being able to blend into the environment by leaning against a wall or sitting to not arouse suspicion. Another great option for gathering information is by investigating an area for data pads or talking to passersbys, learning more about key NPCs to increase the chances of success for a successful bluff.
3 Convenient Fast Traveling Across The Stars
Save Time Backtracking With More Efficient Fast Travel
No matter how beautiful the world of Star Wars Outlaws is, there's only so much driving back and forth players can manage. With some side quests requiring a lot of backtracking, and plenty of collectibles to go back and find, fast travel is a great way to save time. While Kay can easily travel to key locations already explored on each planet, not every player knows just how efficient this mechanic can be.

One KOTOR Planet Is Perfect For Making A Return In Star Wars Outlaws
There are tons of planets in the galaxy for Star Wars Outlaws to visit, but one, in particular, is absolutely perfect because of its shady reputation.
Not only can Kay fast-travel to key locations and cities, but she can also instantly fast-travel to wherever her speeder bike is, no matter how far. This is great for players that don't want to backtrack out of an explored area, or simply want to get right back into the freedom of driving without having to travel to a city first. Fast travel is also not limited to the planet Kay is currently exploring, as she can quickly teleport to any key location on other planets, entirely skipping the steps needed to take off and land her ship.
2 Knocking Out Enemies Without Raising Alarms
No More Reaching For The Quick-Load Button Every Few Minutes
Whether it's someone's preferred play style or not, stealth is an important aspect of Star Wars Outlaws. Some missions will require Kay to go fully undetected to progress, with others being much more difficult after getting spotted by guards. For players who get detected but still want to try a stealth run, the game features a quick save that starts right before combat, allowing a quick loading to easily try again.
After detecting Kay where she shouldn't be, enemies in stealth missions will have a timer above their heads before sounding the alarm. If Kay knocks out an alerted enemy with either a swift melee takedown or a charge ion blast, the alarm won't go off, allowing Kay to continue sneaking without obstruction. While quick loading is a great feature to have, it's not always necessary to jump to it right away, as players have multiple options to save a stealth run, including disabling the alarms in the first place, so guards have nobody else to call for backup.
1 Fully Utilizing The Invincible Nix
Friendship Is A Powerful Tool Even For Successful Outlaws
Nix is by far the most valuable tool in Kay's arsenal, being both incredibly versatile and powerful in a wide range of situations. While most of Nix's abilities are readily accessible with some simple input, some of his more daring abilities are sometimes forgotten with how much Kay has to keep track of. The most powerful ability Kay's companion has in Star Wars Outlaws is that Nix is immune to damage and undetectable in stealth, making him the perfect option for taking out enemies risk-free.
Nix's abilities can be quickly activated by tapping his action wheel instead of pulling it open each time, allowing for quick, seamless commands.
Nix works just as well alongside Kay as he does being sent out for her, as with him by her side, Kay can perform double takedowns, quietly eliminating otherwise pesky guard duos. Kay can also find different recipes from street vendors from different cities to feed Nix, unlocking unique abilities like distracting multiple enemies or kicking back incoming grenades. Nix's unlocked abilities can be easily swapped out from the Trailblazer's kitchen depending on the type of mission the daring duo plans to face next in Star Wars Outlaws.
