Looking to save on LEGO? In addition to the best LEGO deals from the official store and big retailers like Argos, Very and John Lewis & Partners to name a few, Amazon is often a good place to find a decent discount – or secure some harder-to-find LEGO sets – on Prime Day 2024 as well as Black Friday and other major sales periods.
LEGO super-fans can certainly expect deals on sets from top pop culture franchises during this year's Prime Day event, potentially including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Batman, among others.
Based on past Prime Days, it's possible some of the year's most popular and pricey LEGO sets could hit all-time low prices, much like Marvel's massive Hulkbuster or the X-Wing starfighter from Star Wars did in 2023.
In the year since Prime Day 2023, LEGO has unveiled a whole product range based on the hit Nintendo gaming series Animal Crossing and celebrated the 25th anniversary of its collaboration with Star Wars by releasing special sets from The Phantom Menace and A New Hope.
Let's catch you up on what you can expect from Prime Day 2024, as well as some sales you can already take advantage of.
When do Prime Day 2024 LEGO deals begin?
Amazon has yet to confirm the exact date(s) for Prime Day 2024, but we do know that the event will take place in July like in previous years (aside from 2020 and 2023, when the event moved to October, and 2021, when Prime Day took place in June).
The retailer officially confirmed earlier this year that Prime Day would take place in the UK in July, with this year being particularly special since it will be the 10th annual savings event.
Amazon has promised to "pack even more great savings into the event this year" on a range of products, from Amazon devices and gaming kit to back-to-school supplies.
LEGO is likely to be well-represented in this year's Prime Day just like it always has been in the past, and there will probably be particularly strong savings on mid-range and cheaper sets.
Prime Day events take place in over 20 countries as a way to celebrate the anniversary of Amazon's inception. Amazon launched its US site on July 16, 1995, and held the first Prime Day event on July 15, 2015 to mark the company's 20th anniversary.
Best pre-Prime Day LEGO deals at a glance
Prime Day may not be kicking off until next month but that doesn't mean there aren't some LEGO sets with excellent savings from Amazon right now.
While we expect deeper discounts during the event itself, you may want to take a look at some of the early offers available, featuring Marvel, Disney and Star Wars.
X-Men '97 has introduced a whole new generation of Marvel fans to the classic '90s animated version of Professor X's super-team — and the sleek blue jet they use to battle Magneto, Mr Sinister and the Hellfire Club.
Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon has slashed 21% off the RRP of the Marvel X-Men X-Jet Buildable Toy Plane, now available for £49.29.
Disney has confirmed two new Moana films are on the way, a live-action remake starring newcomer Catherine Laga'aia as the Disney Princess and an animated sequel bringing back Dwayne Johnson and Auli'i Cravalho.
While waiting for Moana 2's cinema release later this year, Amazon has this Wayfinding Boat on sale for £23.99 (SAVE 20%).
Obi-Wan Kenobi is ready to blast off across the galaxy far, far away in his Jedi Starfighter to battle the gathering dark forces of The Empire.
This Star Wars prequel set is already on sale for 24% off, now priced at £22.74.
Star Wars Clone Trooper & Battle Droid Battle Pack (LEGO 75372)
Now 20% Off
Crime Alley shakes at the mere sight of the Dark Knight, whether it's the Caped Crusader dropping down for some hand-to-hand combat or swooping into Gotham City in his Batmobile.
Amazon has a constructible model of The Bat and the 1989 version Batmobile on sale even before Prime Day, offering more than 20% off on both sets.
Some other odds and ends don't fit into larger pop culture franchises but are on offer now, including vehicle replicas from the LEGO Technic range and even a brick version of Big Ben and the London Eye.
Will I need a Prime membership for Prime Day LEGO deals?
In short, yes, you will need to be an active subscriber to Amazon Prime to take advantage of the best discounts offered on Prime Day.
Amazon Prime membership currently costs £8.99 per month or £95 per year for UK users, or $14.99 per month/$139 per year in the US. Customers who haven't held membership for 12 months or more may be eligible for a free trial of Amazon Prime.
Aside from Prime Day savings on a huge variety of products, Prime subscribers also benefit from price reductions and flash sales daily, as well as shipping cost reductions and access to the streaming service Prime Video.
Prime Video viewers can check out the brand new fourth season of The Boys, as well as the upcoming second season of The Rings of Power and favourites such as The Summer I Turned Pretty and Good Omens.
If you can't subscribe to Prime right now, there will still likely be some offers around the sales event that you can take advantage of without being a member. Keep in mind that other retailers like The LEGO Store, John Lewis & Partners, Argos and Very have their own flash sales and savings events throughout the year that you can take advantage of.
Is it better to wait for Black Friday?
While there will be lots of tempting deals during Prime Day 2024, you may be considering waiting for Black Friday in November to see if there are better offers.
LEGO does tend to offer significant savings on some of its larger sets and biggest franchises for the pre-Christmas shopping event, but you can't always count on that being the case.
What we'd suggest is keeping an eye here before and during Prime Day so you'll be able to spot and take advantage of a particular LEGO product that isn't guaranteed to go on sale in November.
We'd also recommend price match potential savings using CamelCamelCamel to discover how a Prime Day or, later, a Black Friday deal matches up to recent flash sales or other offers from Amazon and beyond.
