WTF? So let me get this straight. Someone started an illegal indoor marijuana grow operation in an apartment/condo they rented directly from the owner. Then, they had the audacity to sue the owner of the apartment for exposure to toxic mold...mold that was a result of the tenant trying to grow weed in the apartment. So, the tenant was suing the owner for a problem they caused. This tenant was a POS and lacked human decency and accountability. These are the stories that scare me from owning and renting to tenants. Michael S. Cleveland, MSPH with CED Technologies, Inc. can investigate mold cause and origin - he could offer opinion and testify that this tenant was the root cause for the mold. #accountability #causeandorigin #mold #weed #marijuana #illegal #forensicengineering #expertwitness

If you are operating a restoration company in California then this update from Tim Bauer should be of interest. State Farm, Farmers and Allstate have changed their strategy and are not issuing new policies in the state due to wildfire risk - and also not mentioned in this link, government legislation. There are things that homeowners can and should do in response to the changing claims environment. Having to file a claim due to smoke or wildfires will be very costly. Representation matters. When teaching, you need to provide examples that resonate with different sorts of people with different sorts of experiences. Hence, I was delighted to find this State Farm data on auto insurance claims involving deer. It takes me back to my adolescence in rural PA (#3 in the country for deer-related accidents) and my mom and dad teaching me how to look out for deer when going 55 on rural highways. You can use it in class to discuss probability, the relationship between data and insurance, calculate z-scores, and scales of measurement. https://lnkd.in/eXNTxWYp
