About

The 5,286-acre Nockamixon State Park is in the rolling hills of scenic Bucks County, close enough to Philadelphia or a day trip, but far enough away for a vacation. Tohickon Creek, Three Mile Run, and Hayco*ck Run feed the 1,450-acre Lake Nockamixon, which is a rest stop for migrating waterfowl and a destination for boaters and anglers. Visitors can stay the night in a cabin or enjoy the many activities of the park for the day. Popular activities are picnicking, swimming in the pool, hiking, biking, disc golf, hunting, fishing, and boating. Seasons and Hours: The park is open every day of the year, sunrise to sunset. Day use areas close at dusk. The park office is open specific hours. Fishing and boating is permitted 24 hours a day in designated areas. Some park areas are closed to vehicles in the winter. Contact the park office for facility seasons and hours.

Large, lovely, lots to do

Sept 2019

We only took advantage of the large choice of well maintained hiking trails, but there is lots to do at this park. It was well worth a drive.

A beautiful way to spend the day

Sept 2019

My husband and I spend part of our day just scoping the park out. We did not do any hiking or biking but it is a place that offers lots to do for all. We had lunch by the beautiful lake while watching the sail boats float by.It is a lovely park and we will be more prepared next time with our bikes and hiking shoes.

swimming

Jul 2019

very large swimming pool in the heart of the state park. Separate area for toddlers with walk in beach like entrance and 3 different sprinklers, mushroom shaped and bucket spill types. Gradual deepening of pool to accommodate all children heights with roped areas and many lifeguards. Also a tube slide for children over 48 inches. Reasonable entry fees and great snack stand. There is a playground within walking distance to the pool. Grill areas outside pool area if you want to bring your own food and make a day of it. Some day camps come from 12-3 but the pook easily absorbs them without feeling crowded. I did not evaluate fishing boating or kayaking which can be done in the large lake.

Picnic and kayaking

Jul 2019 • Family

Great place for a picnic and kayaking. We like the Hayco*ck or Tohickon entrance. Not as much large boat traffic as the main marina so better for kayaks.
Bring bread to feed the huge fish along the boat ramps at the main marina. Kids love it!!

Worth a stop

Jun 2018 • Solo

Good fishing and clean park. Plenty of parking and a lot of different places to set up to cast a rod. Some back roads should have a 4x4 but the basic park is great for just about everything

Hike

Oct 2018 • Couples

We love to take a walk on the many paved paths or the wooded trails within the state park. We always see wildlife whether it's a blue heron, a bald eagle or just common ducks. I love photography so it's perfect @

Beautiful State Park and Lake

Nov 2018 • Friends

Love Lake Nockamixon. The lake is beautiful. Lots of wildlife, places to fish, places to launch kayaks, etc. Nice paved walking trail and miles of other trails.

Maintenance? We don't need no stinking maintenance.

May 2018 • Couples

We rented an “accessible” cabin at this park during a recent trip. We had reserved for four nights but cut short our stay and left after three nights. Although this is a beautiful park near Philadelphia the state's lack of maintenance is very evident. The cabin was so poorly maintained and dirty. Here are just a few of the issues we encountered: the refrigerator looked like something you might see in a bait shop—the exterior was rusty and the interior was filthy. The ceiling fan in the bathroom was almost completely clogged with dirt, lint, human hair and whatever else. The pan beneath the hot water heater also had an inch thick layer of the same filth.

The condition of this “accessible” cabin is an insult to everyone not just persons with physical limitations.

Thank you for your feedback and for letting us know about the condition of the cabin. We apologize that you didn't enjoy your experience staying with us. We replaced the refrigerator and cleaned the other items that you indicated. We also inspected the other cabins to make that sure they were being cleaned properly. If ever you encounter these issues at our park or other State Park facilities, please contact the park office directly so we can address the issues quickly and resolve them for you.
